Overview
Palais Namaskar in Marrakech occupies five hectares on the Route de Bab Atlas, near the Palmeraie, about twenty minutes by car from the Medina. The property opened in 2012 and was designed around Feng Shui principles, blending oriental, Asian, and contemporary architecture with Moorish touches across grounds that are as much water as garden: ornamental lakes, meandering channels, reflecting pools, and scented plantings connect every building, with the Atlas Mountains and the Djebilet Hills holding the horizon on two sides. The main pool sits at the centre of the resort. At 320 square metres it is large, rectangular, heated, and ringed by oversized daybeds set on stone decking under shaded structures. The setting around the pool is deliberate: stone columns frame the adjacent lunch terrace, gauzy curtains shift in the breeze, and the garden behind opens into the network of waterways and lakes that organise the wider property. Le Namaskar restaurant overlooks the pool and serves French-Moroccan fine dining with seasonal menus through breakfast, lunch, and dinner. La Table operates as a garden restaurant for daytime eating, lighter and more open-air, positioned among palms and exotic planting. A rooftop bar hidden above Le Namaskar serves sushi and cocktails with panoramic Atlas views and DJ sets through the evening. A tea lounge with Murano glass chandeliers and a fireplace rounds out the indoor spaces. Pool day passes run through the summer months and include sunbed access and a two-course lunch on the terrace. Sunday garden parties bring a separate rhythm: a buffet spread across the lawn with live acoustic guitar under the palms, guests drifting between pool and food at their own pace. The Sunday brunch draws a following among Marrakech residents and requires booking. Forty-one rooms, suites, villas, and palaces spread along the waterways, almost all with their own private pool or heated plunge pool. The interiors use a calm neutral palette of stone, marble, and earth tones rather than the traditional Marrakech red, with fireplaces, freestanding soaking tubs, and walls of glass opening onto terraces. The spa includes hammams, treatment rooms with private outdoor terraces, and therapies using organic products. A one-kilometre path loops the grounds for morning runs. Palais Namaskar treats water as both architecture and atmosphere, and the main pool functions as the point where both meet most clearly: still, heated, open to the sky, with mountains behind and designed gardens on every side.
