ABOUT
Timence Guide is an independent editorial guide dedicated to Marrakech: a travel magazine, a social media voice, and a complete organised vision of the city.
It was born from the idea that Marrakech can be experienced in many different ways, and that a satisfying trip depends above all on finding the type of travel that best suits your preferences. Talking with people who visit the city, it often emerges that their experience was partial, not for lack of interest, but because many of the opportunities Marrakech offers were simply unknown to them. The guide was born from this observation: a tool, not a list of addresses, that allows everyone to build their own itinerary independently and with a complete picture of what the city has to offer. The magazine and social media channels do the other part: they go deeper, covering the restaurants, hotels, neighbourhoods, people and stories that make Marrakech worth understanding before you arrive.
The problem with most coverage
Most of the knowledge available about Marrakech is produced by people who pass through it, not by those who live there. Someone arriving for a week will inevitably only experience part of the city, due to a structural limit of time and depth.
The result is a mass of content that all looks the same and tells a partial version of Marrakech. Added to this are those who operate from the inside, concierges and booking platforms, with an interest in promoting partner venues rather than the best ones.
A city more complex than it seems
Marrakech is not just medina, souks and folklore. It is a city that can be experienced in radically different ways: luxurious or accessible, frenetic or contemplative, suited to families as much as couples, to first-time visitors as much as those returning for the fifth time looking for something new.
There are excellent places at every price point. There are spots worth visiting for the atmosphere even if the food is not the best, and it is useful to know this. There are little-known addresses that are worth more than anything on the usual lists.
Marrakech is also a different culture. Getting to know it before you arrive is not a detail, it is part of the experience.
How Timence Guide is built and how to use it
The selection is complete by design. It includes the place that is currently fashionable and the one nobody knows yet, the benchmark restaurant and the one that costs little and delivers a lot. Every venue is described for what it is, with its qualities and its limits, and categorised to help you understand whether it suits you: target, occasion, price range, mood.
The guide works in two ways. Those who want to explore independently can navigate the map, filter by category and build their own itinerary. Those in a hurry will find ready-made selections, thematic articles and curated picks for specific traveller profiles, to get oriented before even arriving.
Editorial content across every format
Alongside the guide, Timence produces an ongoing travel magazine with long-form articles on the restaurants, hotels, neighbourhoods and stories worth knowing in depth. The same editorial voice extends to social media, where venues, openings and city life are covered as they happen, written from the inside rather than from a passing visit.
The aim is not volume. It is a consistent point of view on a city that changes faster than most coverage manages to follow.
The goal of Timence Guide is to show Marrakech in all its real complexity, through a complete venue guide, editorial journalism that covers the city as it actually is, and a social media voice built from the inside over time.
