Overview
Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech spreads across 231 hectares of century-old olive groves on the Route d'Amizmiz, where the ochre plain tilts upward toward the Atlas range. The architecture takes its cues from the ksars of the southern desert: low, lateral, earth-toned, designed to sit within the landscape rather than compete with it. Everything here is built around scale. The estate holds an 18-hole golf course, four restaurants, a 3,500-square-metre spa, an organic farm, and what is, by a comfortable margin, the largest swimming pool in the city. That pool is the centrepiece. One hundred metres long and spanning two thousand square metres, it stretches in front of the main building like a still lake, reflecting the Atlas peaks and the rows of palms that frame the grounds. Loungers line the edges; the poolside restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes under the shade of olive trees. A dedicated children's section sits at one end, shallow and contained. For lap swimmers, two semi-Olympic pools operate at the fitness centre and the country club. A further indoor pool in the spa is reserved for adults, warmer and quieter, designed for recovery rather than exercise. The resort opened under the Fairmont flag in 2017, and its identity leans toward the grand and self-contained: the kind of place where a day can pass entirely within the grounds without repetition. The pool, in particular, earns its reputation not through design flourishes but through sheer dimension, open sky, and the Atlas range holding steady on the horizon.
