Overview
Dar Kandi offers six suites in the Medina, each one assembled with a distinct personality: some rooms evoke older Morocco through traditional tilework, carved cedar latticework, and dark wooden furniture; others blend the same vocabulary with lighter contemporary touches that shift the atmosphere toward the present. The central courtyard is airy and leafy, the arrangement of plants and furniture giving it the quality of a private garden rather than a hotel lobby. Three terraces serve different purposes at different hours: a rooftop pool terrace at the top of the building for the morning light and afternoon heat; a lounge terrace for the slower, cooler hours; a dining terrace where meals extend past their nominal end time. Six suites means the property operates at the scale where it can feel entirely private even at full occupancy, and often does. The Medina location places guests inside the old city's rhythm, close to major sites but not in their orbit, the surrounding streets quiet enough that the courtyard's proportions make sense against the neighborhood. Hammam and spa treatments complete the domestic logic of a riad designed for immersion rather than excursion, a place to return to rather than depart from Six suites means the full house can be rented as a private residence, which a number of guests choose to do. In that configuration, the building's domestic logic becomes explicit: three terraces for different hours of the day, a courtyard for the evening, a hammam for the morning before the city wakes up.
