Overview
In the Triangle d'Or of the Palmeraie, Jnane Rumi opened in April 2025 as one of the most considered new addresses in Marrakech. The property is a restored mid-century private residence originally conceived by architect Charles Boccara, with vaulted ceilings, sculpted fireplaces, sunlit loggias, and gracefully arched French windows. The Rumi Bar occupies an intimate space within the house, furnished with deep cushioned chairs and an edited collection of contemporary North African and European artwork, with views that open onto the garden. The bar functions as both a social space and a quieter retreat, depending on the hour and the group. The overall atmosphere of the property leans toward the cultural rather than the purely sybaritic: Jnane Rumi positions itself as a house where art, conversation, and reflection are as central as the drink in the glass. Events, talks, and art tours are part of the programming, open to residents and guests alike. Outside the bar, century-old gardens extend across the grounds: olive and pistachio trees, palms that predate the house by decades, a pool that stretches through the shade. The combination of the intimate bar and the vast, silent garden behind it creates a contrast that defines the experience here. This is a Palmeraie address for people who want something that feels more like a private home with good taste than a resort with good branding. The drink is part of the experience, but not the whole of it.
