Overview
On Tarik Ibn Ziad in Gueliz, Entrepotes occupies a garden courtyard that has been designed to feel as if the city outside doesn't quite reach it. Low lighting, plants that soften every hard edge, and a lounge music register that stays low enough to carry conversation all the way through the evening. The outdoor terrace is the social centre of the space: tables fill progressively from early evening and the crowd stays late. The cocktail list is broad and well-executed, ranging from classics to more creative compositions built around seasonal ingredients. The bar operates with the same logic as the kitchen: sharing plates and tapas that are designed to extend the evening rather than anchor it, allowing the drinks to remain central without the meal taking over. The food covers an eclectic range of influences, lighter than a full restaurant menu and better suited to the pace of a night that is more about the company than the cuisine. Entrepotes is Gueliz at its most relaxed and least pretentious. There are no design statements to decode, no concept to absorb before you can enjoy yourself. The garden does what gardens do when they work: it creates a space that feels separated from the street even when it is technically right on it, and it gives the evening a quality of ease that the more polished addresses in the neighbourhood don't always manage. For a long drink on a warm Marrakech night in the company of a few people, it is a reliable choice.
